Method:
Soak the dried fruit in the water in a
saucepan overnight. Bring to the boil, reduce the heat and simmer
until the fruit is tender. Remove from the heat. When cool enough to
handle, remove any stones (pits). Puree in a blender or food
processor. Blend the custard powder with the sugar and milk in a
saucepan. Bring to the boil and cook for 2 minutes, stirring all the
time. Stir the fruit puree into the custard, then turn into serving
dishes. Top with a few currants and serve hot.
