Apple Nut Crunch Recipe

Ingredients: Serves 4

100 g/4 oz/1 cup walnuts
750 g/1lb eating (dessert) apples, sliced
Lemon juice
75 g/3 oz butter
45 ml/3 tbsp clear honey
75 g/3 oz plain (all-purpose) flour

20 ml/4 tsp light brown sugar

120 ml/4 fl oz creme fraiche

Method:

Reserve 8 walnut halves and coarsely chop the remainder. Toss the apple slices in a little lemon juice. Arrange attractively in a shallow ovenproof dish. Melt the butter and honey in a saucepan. Stir in the flour, sugar and the chopped walnuts. Spoon over the apples and arrange the reserved walnut halves on top. Bake for 20 minutes in a preheated oven at 180C/350F/gas mark 4 until golden brown. Serve warm.
