Apple and Strawberry Sauce Recipe

Ingredients: Serves 6

450 g/1 lb cooking (tart) apples, sliced

60 ml/4 tbsp strawberry jam (conserve)

15 ml/1 tbsp water
5 ml/1 tsp lemon juice
Caster (superfine) sugar

Method:

Simmer together all the ingredients except the sugar in a covered saucepan until the apple is pulpy. Pass through a sieve (strainer) or puree in a blender or food processor. Return to the pan and sweeten to taste with caster sugar. Serve hot.
