Sift the flour and baking powder into a
bowl. Stir in the breadcrumbs, suet and fruit. Mix with enough of the
milk to form a soft, dropping consistency. Shape into a roll on a
double thickness of greased greaseproof (waxed) paper. Wrap up loosely
and tie the ends with twist ties or string. Steam in a steamer or
colander over hot water for 2 1/2 hours.
Serve sliced with Classic Custard Sauce.
